We are now in Kaduna. We arrived in Nigeria last Friday and after a car drive through Lagos we made our way to Abuja, a lovely city. We then made our way to Makurdi where we were entertained with Swange music and dancing, a tradition of the Tiv. We then moved on to the heart of Tivland, G'boko. The drives through the countryside have been amazing to us all. The landscapes are quite beautiful. We've had an opportunity to try various Nigerian dishes included jollof rice, pounded yam, moi moi, and much more. Reid and Jenn even had the opportunity to sample a bit of palm wine, quite fresh from the tree. We both found it delicious. We have visited a few schools and today will have the chance to see two more here in Kaduna. We've also visited a couple of hospitals, focusing primarily on care for those with HIV/AIDS.

The people here have been most gracious hosts. They've shared with us their culture, customs, food, and most significantly their hearts. It's been a very powerful trip so far. We've seen and experienced so much already, been impacted by the everyday struggles of so many people, and visited with so many people, it feels like we've been here much longer than a week.
